🎮 The Escapists 2 Overview Released in 2017 by Team17. Still a sandbox prison escape game, but now with multiplayer (up to 4 players). Bigger maps, more crafting recipes, new ways to escape, and different prison themes (deserts, trains, even space!). 🔑 What’s New Compared to Escapists 1 Multiplayer – Play online or local co-op. Escape with friends, which makes teamwork-based escapes possible. Different prisons – Not just standard prisons: Trains 🚂 Boats ⛴️ Airplanes ✈️ Even a space prison 🪐 Combat system upgrade – You now aim attacks and block, making fights more skill-based. More escape methods – Some prisons have unique story-style escapes (like disguising as guards, blending with band members, or hijacking vehicles). Customization – Create your inmate’s look with more detail. Jobs & routines – Expanded compared to Escapists 1, with more mini-games (e.g., crafting instruments, cooking, or medical tasks). ⚡ Tips for Escapists 2 Learn prison layouts – They’re much bigger than Escapists 1, so memorizing guard patterns and camera spots helps a lot. Work together (if multiplayer) – One player can distract guards while another digs/cuts. Stats matter even more – Strength = health + damage. Fitness = stamina (needed for digging, fighting, running). Intellect = unlocks advanced recipes. Crafting is deeper – Lots of multi-stage recipes (like durable pickaxes or disguises). Unique escapes – Don’t just think tunnels and vents; check for special story paths in each prison. For example: Hijack the prison transport on a train. Steal a plane on the airfield map. Stage a band performance and sneak out. 🛠️ Popular Escape Methods Classic digging → still works, but dogs and detectors make it harder. Vents & roofs → good if you find screwdrivers early. Key copying → still crucial for many escapes. Unique prison escapes → often the most fun and fastest once you know the trick. 🏃 The Escapists 2 – Tips & Tricks 🔑 General Survival Tips Stick to the routine – Missing roll call, meals, or job time makes guards suspicious. Hide contraband smartly – Use desks, hidden compartments, or stash it in vents/tunnels. Avoid metal detectors! Search desks daily – They refresh with loot. Great for duct tape, screwdrivers, files, and contraband. Boost your stats: Strength → more health + stronger hits. Fitness → more stamina (needed for digging/cutting/fighting). Intellect → required for advanced crafting. Crafting is key – Duct tape + files, pickaxes, cutters, fake keys, disguises… know your recipes. 🔧 Escape Planning Tips Digging (Classic Escape) Shovels + timber braces = tunnel life. Cover your hole with a desk or fake floor. Place braces every 5–6 tiles or tunnel collapses. Vents & Roofs Screwdriver or file removes vent covers. Replace with fake vent covers to avoid suspicion. Roofs often lead to fences or helicopters (depending on prison). Fence Cutting Use cutters (weak → sturdy → lightweight). Time it at night when guards are spread out. Key Copying Knock out a guard → make a mold with putty → copy with molten plastic. Return the real key, or guards will lock down the prison. Only copy the keys you need (red/green/yellow/purple/blue). Disguises & Outfits Guard outfit lets you move more freely. Civilian outfits are used in unique escapes. Always bleach & recolor inmate outfits when needed. Fake Items Fake vent covers, fake wall blocks, and bed dummies are must-haves for night operations. 💡 Advanced Prison Challenges Cameras: Wait until the red light blinks off before tampering. Snipers: Outdoors, they’ll shoot if your heat is high. Keep suspicion low. Dogs: They track tunnels. Use timber braces & keep digging hidden. Metal Detectors: Drop contraband before passing through, or store it elsewhere. ⚡ Unique Escapes (New in Escapists 2) Unlike the first game, some prisons have scripted special escapes: Trains (Cougar Creek Railroad) → Uncouple the train cars or fight your way off. Airplane (Air Force Con) → Hijack the plane mid-flight. Ship (HMS Orca) → Take over the boat or slip away. Band Escape → Craft instruments, disguise as a band, and sneak out. Disguise Escapes → Dress as guards, medics, or maintenance crew to leave legally. 🛠 Pro Player Tips Always carry a weapon (sock mace, baton, crowbar). Combat is tougher in Escapists 2. Multiplayer teamwork: One distracts, one digs/cuts/loots. Makes escapes way faster. Map knowledge = speed: Learn patrols, cameras, and weak spots.
